Deep, dark secret

I thought I might find some new information about the mounted plow for my wd and wd45. So having heard a little bit about the unofficial allis chalmers forum. I registered and then tried a post reply and got an error message that I had not been authorized and to click this button to get email accepting me. I tried this three times over several hours and then tried to find a linky to a moderator to help me with my problem. I clicked on every link on the page hopeing it would lead to help. I could not even open the help link. Did my reputation preceed me somehow? What is the answer? chuck.

years ago I had a D14 with a snap couple 2-14" plow and a snap couple double disc plow,

let me know what you want posted and I will try to find a picture of the plow
so you can ask your question, I for sure will not know the answer, but someone on the forum will know.

just be sure that plow ring hook under the tractor is in top working condition, you do not want that plow coming unhitched while you are plowing!!!!!!!!!!

Your are the fourth or fifth person to tell me this. One person suffered a horrible injury. Having thought about how real this problem could be I intend to add a short safety chain. I inspected my coupler and spring and they are very worn as you would expect of a 60 year old tractor. Operator over 66 and worn badly too! Thanks for the warning. I still have no way to notify the other forum I'm being left out! chuck.

As usual, my advise lands on DEAF Ears.....

ANY WD should be CONVERTED to the "Snap-Coupler Hitch...WITH the "Snap-Couplers" on the LIFT arms...

With the full set of "Snap-Coupler" pieces installed...you cannot GET any piece of equipment to give you a problem...they WILL DROP away INSTANTLY if the Bottom Coupler were to come un-hooked ( which is entirely Un-Likely..

THE WD-Type with the cross Pin and Cotter pins for holding it in IS the Dangerous one...but would be Safe enough IF it were inspected often..
Many are still in use, but I think many times it is because of ignorance rather than intent..

Some "Experts" here have NO idea what they are talking about...

IF ya don't think a "Snap-Coupler" equipped tractor ( With Lift arm Releases) will not drop the plow INSTANTLY YOU let me know...it will Certainly be a first..!!

Ron..

Bush hog I couldn't care less what happens to you but I would really hate to hear of someone that got butchered up or killed following your advice.Myself and others here have had the snap coupler bell come unhooked and the clamps not release. So anyone reading this can make their own minds about what to do.

The old addage "never say never". safety first, last and always because I'm to old to get my body rearranged by a plow. Did you have swing chains on your plow and were they hooked up? One of the pics in a manual on ebay shows chains on both sides and a spring in the middle to keep out the slack!?! thanks, chuck.

Anything can happen. I wouldn't trust those snap coupler clamps to release. Years a go I was disking with my 706. The pin under the belly that connects the drawbar to the tractor came out. The hydraulic hoses didn't disconnect like they are designed too. It just pulled the ends off!
