Does anyone know anything about an AC dual fuel tractor? It has a propane tank and a gas tank , it looks
like a WD -45 but I am not sure, any idea of the value? it looks like it is in good condition.

LP WD45 had a front mount LP tank that utilized the mounted cultivator brackets- the square cutouts that were referred to. They mount on the front of the C-channel frame. You could switch from one fuel to the other.

Never too old to learn--just looking at tractordata.com, I see three compression ratios listed for the WD45 226 engine. The common gas, a lower ratio for "tractor fuel"(I suppose the true dual fuel-start on gas run on distillate) and a higher ratio for the LP model. I assumed the gas tank was just used on the WD45 LP as a dummy to hold the hood. Probably cheaper than coming up with something else.

Used to be lots of WD45's around. No LP's here. Very few diesels.

Because of the higher compression ratio, ethyl gasoline was to be used, not regular. This was a factory setup, not a conversion.

When I was a kid, about 65 years ago, a friend of my Dads was running styled WCs on propane, don't know if they were dual fuel but seemed to run ok on propane.
