Hi I been thinking is there a way to speed up the MPH on a AC C ? I don't need the tractor for work just road runs and could do with doubling up the speed to keep up with all the other not so old vintage tractors

Don't know how this would be possible may be change the crown and pinion in the final drive but again with what ? has anyone had any success with this endeavor as I aint no mechanical buff

Taller wheels in the back. Guy in our club made a high crop b. He had 38" rims in the back. It moved right along. He built many variations of B's just because he could from low rider to high crop and the 2 wheel balancing tractor.

I think it's DickL who knows this for sure, but I believe the B is faster because of different final drives.
I put a D15 governor spring on my C to get more speed out of it.

How much money are you willing to spend to get there? For a quick incomplete overview!
With the engine balanced and adding a racing camshaft you can get 4000 RPM's. Operate it without a governor. That doubles your speed. That would be without adding pulling horse power by just going for speed. You would want to drill the crankshaft for a pressure lube of the rods and mains and run a high volume oil pump. I would guess you would be in the range of $3000.00 or more to get to that point.

Install a shorter governor spring. I have a CA with a CR engine, from a combine, in it and it turns at 1900 RPM.
Goes down the road at 14 MPH

As well as taller wheels that craigco mentioned, you could use the CA components on it, such as the CA tranny, and maybe the rear end. I have 2C's a CA, and a B, and the CA is quite a bit faster, in road gear, than the c's or the B.
