Spark Plug On D-17

I copied this right out of the manual.
Notice that the newer D-17s use a "long reach" plug.

Yes as Brian said be sure you have the correct reach, you must look in the head lots of them have the wrong plugs installed in later heads. After trying most current plugs I prefer old stock A-C 45 or 45XL for long reach heads. They are always on ebay and cheap compared to replacing junk plugs every other time you use the tractor.

After almost 60 years, many of those older tractors may have had a different cylinder head or a newer engine installed in them. Know which head you are working with ....3/8" depth or 3/4" depth.
