I'd think that if she's really stuck, one had better be pretty careful to not over tighten the cap screws.

I found out the hard way that this method only works on moderately stuck engines. When I tried this method I ended up peeling the deck off the top of the block.

I turned a groove in a plate so an o ring would seal around the cylinder. Had a hole tapped for a grease fitting. I bolted it down, filled it with fluid from the parts washer & screwed in the fitting. 1st pump of the grease gun broke it free. I had to sleeve that cylinder.
