Realistically non running old gas tractor has a salvage value of $600 a piece?

If you want them valued more, spend 4 days and get thrm all running........ Is what it is, non running tractor is salvage parts......

Got into a land deal this spring, the loan officer said well what are you worth, what is the farm land you own worth and what is it worth what you
are buying?

Then he looked at me and chuckled, and said, yea what is farm land worth today or next year, I suppose about what you are buying it for?

I chuckled and said I really don't have any idea, it went from 1000 to 3500 to 850 to 2500 to 6500 to 10,500 to 7000 so far in my lifetime, I was
gonna have you answer that one anyhow!

Then he suggested loaning on my farm machinery instead of on the land, would cut down on fees. I handed him my inventory of machinery, but
I farm with such junk I knew that wasn't going to add up to anything. Just bought a combine, $6500 with a bean head, that isn't 'normal' farming
any more these days my neighbor shows up with tracks on the 8-12 row combine, tracks on the 1200bu grain cart, and tracks on the quad
tractor pulling it, that is how farming should be done now.....

So, loans are a little funny deal on old stuff.

Deeply appreciate the advice and help guys. Hoping i can do just that. Hope you guys win the lottery! =)

Why does the engine always dictate the value of a tractor? I understand its a factor but its the cheapest part to fix. I worry about the rest of the machine much more than the engine.

Actually new tires are sometimes a bigger deal these days, with the price of tires......

If the engine runs you can test any of the rest of it - won't find hidden problems, but you can test power steering, charging, tranny, hydraulic pump, etc. with a dead engine, the entire thing is a big question mark. It's likely the tranny crapped out, and a person left it set until the engine doesn't fire either. And so you have 2 big items to fix.... With the engine running, you can do a quick check on the rest of it.
