how can i test the oil pump in my WC

If the gears turn, it works. I think there are some clearance specs in the manual. I suppose you could chuck up the drive side to a drill and run it in some oil. Did the engine have pressure before you tore it down?

I've had more than one person tell me that those old oil pumps never die. The only things you can check are...

1. under the screen (if a WC pump is like a WD pump) is a cover. Pull that cover and see how much the gears have wore/ground in to the cover. If it's wore much, you should machine or sand the cover back flat. A worn cover lets some of the oil bypass the gears.

2. drive the pin out of the drive gear and pull the shaft to see how much wear it was. It's probably fine.

To risk telling you what you already know, the Cam bearings are the key to building good oil pressure in these motors. Work cam bearing leak out oil and that leaked oil needs to be heading downstream to oil the main and rod bearings.
