Roto Baler For Sale

Selling my roto baler. I realized I am never going to use it, I haven't learned enough about my NewHolland yet to be messing with something else! If anyone is interested let me know. I am in North Idaho. It is in VERY good condition. The only thing it needs is a carrier bearing in the PTO shaft. Asking $1000, but I don't know what it is worth, and am open to offers or trades. Thanks! Bryce

If 9097 is the serial number, it is a 1948 model, second year of production. I"ve never seen one go for half that asking price.....and have you ever used it, or powered it up?

Where I live in Missouri if they ever come up at an auction they have to beg for an opening bid on them and many will sell for well under $100. Last one I saw got sold for $10

They are really not worth that much huh? I am just shooting in the dark really, I didn't know what it is worth.

Yes I have powered it with my TO-30. I greased and oiled everything, and everything SEEMS to work, but I have no idea how to string the twine, or what to do to make it wrap a bale?

Dad used binder twine made by MN Prison Industries- when prisoners still had to work. Comparable to the 16,000 foot rolls used on big rounds today. Unaffordable to use baler twine considering it might be 30-40 ft of twine per bale. They don"t tie, they rely on multiple wraps to keep the bale together. They don"t need strong twine.

The twine goes up out of the box, thru a tension disc (looks like a little pulley) and over to the twine arm...the pipe about 3/4 inch dia and a couple feet long. Adjust guides to keep twine in tension disc and twine roller. Adjust tension disc tight enough to trip spur gear. Thru the arm, with about 6 inches beyond. When the bale is big enough (adjustable), the arm drops, the loose twine "catches" in the belts, and when taut, the arm moves 90 degrees to horiz, and the twine gets cut off by the flipper/knife. Then belts roll again. When farmers lost an arm in the baler, it was cuz the twine didn"t catch, and they"d throw a bit of hay at the rolls...from too close! Our had a rope to pull to start the input conveyor for a bit.

I bought a Roto Baler for $200 a few years ago- just needs belts. Original endless belts are spendy, and it"s major surgery to install. Laced belts are much cheaper.

I didn't know they had a serial number on them. Gave mine to a neighbor 30 years ago. Need to stop by and see if he still has it. Never knew what year it was.

Shoot the one that told for $10 was a white top. Not rare at all and bet I could find 10 plus of them if I tried. Old AC Dealer in thee area last I was up there had 3 of them and have had them for decades
