i have a 1953 wd-45 that I believe is a 180 degrees out on the timing can anyone tell me the steps I need to fix this . thanks in advance

I would agree with Old.

Engines do not just get 180 out of time by themselves, please tell the whole story.

Assuming the dist wires are wrong...bring #1 (closest to the radiator) up to top dead center compression. Pull the plugs and use your thumb over the hole. When air is rushing out, you are on compression. Pull dist cap and align rotor tab with the closest plug tab. Put wires on in firing order. Agree with others, they do not just fall 180 out of time. Need more info to give better help.

If its the dist out of time the simple way to get it right is to just keep moving the wires around the top of the the dist one hole at a time and then cranking to see if it fires up.
