I change the oil in my 426 power unit can't get oil pressure now what am I missing. Just got it and trying to get it started. I know nothing about these.

Not familiar with that size, but on some, the exact appropriate oil filter is required. Some brands will fit, but don"t allow pressure. Did the filter mount have a vertical tube in it, and was that left in the old filter?

Do you have a spin on filter that has a mason jar thread and stuffed with cotton ??? Or do you have a automotive type filter with thread less than 1 inch and paper inside ? ....... the other post was related to the mason jar thread filter.

426 as in the big diesel they used in everything? No cotton or special paper filter issues with those.

Trying to start it? As in it doesn't start and you've never had it running? Cranking you may not see oil pressure. It also takes a little time to fill the oil filters. Maybe Dr Allis will come along and help

Got oil pressure now, but still trying to work the bugs out so it will start, getting closer to hearing it run.
