injection pump 185 not working

The whole pump is full of fuel. As long as it's not going into the base, that part is OK. When the problem starts is when the return fitting in the top of the pump plugs, and over pressurizes the pump body.

There is absolutely no fuel being delivered to injectors !! tractor was sitting for 2 years. confirmed good fuel flow to injector pump, cranked banjo bolt on line at injector, nothing, nothing at injector either. how do I unplug or check this return ?
thanks much

The return line/fitting, as I recall, is on the top of the pump. You can check to see that it's open, but I imagine your problem is internal to the pump, from sitting.

After setting two years without running I'll bet there are several parts stuck inside, see it all the time. Plungers, metering valve, delivery valve, regulator piston can all be stuck. Any biodiesel or water in fuel will stick the parts quicker too. A complete cleaning may be needed to get it working again..

The pump IS supposed to be full of fuel. You could remove the top cover and see if the metering valve is free.
If it doesn't pump after freeing up the mv, the pump will have to be dismantled and cleaned.
See the John Deere thread below.
