Working on a 190 gas. Steering and clutch worked badly. Replaced hydraulic pump. Now the steering and clutch won't work at all. Any advice would be appreciated.

On my XT the priority valve on the top of the pump had a small stone in it that held it open , remove the cap 1 1/8" I believe, pull the spring and plunger with a wire hook and crank engine do not start it oil will push out and hopefully push out debris, also are you sure that you have oil to the pump my xt loses prime if the front end is up hill after being shut off. And, you checked the hydraulic oil where???????? You wouldn't be the first to check the wrong dipstick. Hydraulic dipstick is to the LEFT of the gearshift when sitting in the seat.

That did it. Valve was stuck. Stuck so bad I had to pull that housing off to get the valve out. Polished valve and bore with 600 emry and it worked like new. Steering worked so well that I broke the left hand side steering control arm. Know of anyone who can sell me one? Thanks a lot for the information.
