Allis "G" Electrical Parts - Please Help

Can someone provide me with the correct part number for the Voltage Cutout for an Allis Chalmers G tractor with the original 6 volt system?

I also need the length of the original battery cable to the starter (- cable). I'm gonna go to my local starter generator repair shop and get those parts. He has 2/0 cable and he will make the battery cable there.

Thanks.

"Cutouts" are a lot more generic then VR's and the shop should have no issue fixing you up with one. It's a low output generator, and any basic 6V cutout should work. It probably won't look OEM, but finding one that DOES will likely prove difficult/costly.

As to the cable, grab a length of hose about the same diameter and route it as you would the battery cable, 'til it looks good/is tucked in as you like, then measure it and head to the shop.

In my travels, I've noticed 3 different ways of measuring battery cables, overall length, center-to-center from the battery terminal end to the center of the hole in the terminal at the other end, or just the length of the exposed insulation between the two ends. If you come up with a "close fit" make sure you and the shop guy are on the same page, there, or if you have figured 6 inches more to play with, it doesn't matter.

I really wanted to be able to call the shop and tell them what I needed so they could make it up. I am about 2 hours from the little "G" and can't get the info like you suggested. I just figured that the battery cable length was something that someone knew from restorations or maybe from a book. I know with the Farmall Cub tractors, most people can quickly tell you the lengths of the battery cables, where they go exactly, etc.

As mentioned, there's nothing special about a cut-out. It's just a relay switch that connects the battery to the generator when running and disconnects when not running.

Here's the parts book.
