650 Series Crawler - Middle pedal

We are working on a 655 crawler. There is a long pedal between the two brake pedals. It isn't hooked up to anything! Does anyone know what that pedal was for? I only have a parts manual and I cannot find anything in it that would indicate what it is for.

Thank you for replying,.... we did get it figured out as I am typing.(really) Now I need to find a schematic or drawing to hook this thing up.

Just to follow up,... the hook up is pretty simple once I found it in the parts manual. The pedal is missing a connection rod that goes from the pedal to the injection pump cable. I really appreciate the reply I got, it confirmed our "guess".
