I bought it popping out on downhill runs. All other gears including the power director work fine, but 4th is shot.I lost the clutch this afternoon while hooking up bale prong.I can start her in gear and take off with the power director, but the clutch feels like the pressure plate is shot or she just lost the material on the clutch. Im getting ready to split it and do the clutch and Id love to put a new 4th gear in while its apart.I guess Id like to know the best way to get inside and access it,and how it comes out.Im not a gear guy,but I aint rich either,so I figured Id throw my splitting stands on and try it.Thanks for any help,if possible or helpful hints/suggestions

Sounds like the throw out bearing ate its way thru the pressure plate fingers?? You can look thru a small inspection hole in the bottom of the bell housing with a flashlite to verify this (or not). Could also be a setscrew fell out of a pressure plate finger. 4th gear requires lifting the cab and rolling the rear end away from the center section to even start the repair. Two completely different procedures, like tonsils and hemorrhoids. Fix the clutch and remove the shift cover and take pictures of the trans gears and shift fork and post on here.

I already know the clutch is toast.I
have stands I made that bolt to the
frame with big casters,so I just roll
the front half. Doesn't have a cab.
Mainly need to know how to access the
gear I need to replace

Lift the rear of the platform 6 inches or so. Roll the rear end away from the torque tube. Remove both rear wheels, the lift arm housing, rear axle shafts and rear end cover. Now, everything inside the trans/differential/ brakes, bull gears, bull pinions all have to come out. Make sure you have a plan. Usually 3rd gear is the problem going downhill, so I'd be replacing it while apart. 3rd, 4th, and the sliding coupler in-between. This is a 25 to 30 hr job for someone who has proper tooling and knows how to do it.
