Allis Chalmers WD fuel Cap

I've ask this before, but I'm still not sure.......Does my Allis Chalmers WD require a vented fuel cap?

If you have a cap like this they are not vented.

Unless you have a dedicated vent for the fuel tank then I would say yes with a gravity fed fuel system you must have a vented cap,

Any suggestions where I can find a vented cap. All the vented caps I've found do not mention that they will fit a WD. Tractor runs fine with the cap I have, but when I release the fuel cap it comes up into my hand. Too much pressure I believe.

If I get this style of cap, where would you recommend drilling a hole. Don't want water getting into the tank

This post is old so you are maybe moved on by now. I have a couple original caps and they do have a vent hole near the center inside and vent over to the side above the gasket. It would be an easy thing to miss or be pluged. Since they are old they may vent around the worn gasket to but there should be a vent hole. cleddy
