WC head gasket

Putting the head back on the WC have
new head gasket for it. One side of
the gasket is smooth the reverse side
is raised. Wondering which way is the
right way to put it on? Thanks

If you have 15 head bolts/studs, you can't get it on wrong.

There are raised copper rings one side
on the reverse side it's flat. Which
side goes down to the block?

If you have a gasket that is the same flipped over, you have the wrong gasket. Good luck, Harry

Do you have 12 head bolts or 15 head bolts ?? You cannot get it on wrong if you have 15 bolts. The only other way I can describe it is, on the spark plug side there are three water passage holes about the size of a quarter. One of those holes is smaller than the other two....small hole goes towards the radiator.

And don't put the gasket on dry. Cover it with copper coat paint....multiple layers. Re torque head bolts COLD after running it for an hr or more.
