so its been 5 years since I parked the old beast. it throws the left track often so I kinda left it sit on the hillside. A few charged up batteries and a shot of ether and the old Buda fired right up! Now I have it parked up by the hay tent so maybe I will work on the tracks, looking for some teeth for the root rake and maybe some info on the year? If anybody has some help I would be appreciative ;)

Ok in a search for serial number database this site goes from HD5 right to HD7, no HD6?? mine is an HD6E serial number 12480. there are 2 numbers on the dash plate, the second humber under the first is 6-12463. the rear plate has a bent heavy steel bracket somebody welded to the rake mount, will have to cut that off to see the data plate there

I have spent hours doing searches, can find tractor serial numbers but no dozer database, funny how this site skips the HD6 :p

a long while back I read somewhere the detroit diesels had to be run wide open to make power, so they swapped it for the buda. recently I read where the rippers with one ram were later, earliers had 2 rams on the ripper. I always thought it was a late 50s, it may be newer. I am wanting to know the year, everything works basically, its not charging but the ripper goes up n down and the blade operates, had to fix the left steering brake but it steers now. runs like a top. track needs to be shortened, its a manual tensioner and its all the way out. I have one original ripper tooth, and one homemade one that I bent on a stump root

IN the "Jensales Catalog" I have on pages 4 & 5 they list a number of HG-6 catalogs/instruction manuals. You might contact them for what you need.
Number is 1-800-443-0625 or 507-826-3666. Their site is www.link_disallowed and jensales@link_disallowed

are you sure it doesn't have worn sprockets causing that??

I posted pics over at the unoffical AC forum, the dozer guy said it didnt look that bad, might be the idler causing it, I am gonna send her down the road for something I can use. Somebody else will take over the care n feeding of her ;)

unless you are looking for a serial number database ;) says "serial numbers unknown" but I know now what year it is so all good. :D

might be why this site skips HD6 dozers, but I am sure its out there as it was provided for me by a member here so all good :D
