Rustoleum Farm & Implement Paint

Has anyone used the Rustoleum Farm & Implement Allis Chalmers Orange paint? Would like to know how it matches original Persian orange color and also how well it performs, how quick to dry and anything else important. I can't find anyone local that carries it, Lowes and TSC can order but have a minimum of 1 case order.

Thanks,
Tony

I just bought some from ACE Hardware. I used it on a New Idea Super Sheller auger tube to the wagon. I used it over Rustoleum Rust Reformer Liquid. I just used it for the first time so I cannot answer any of your questions other than where to get it. It went on well. I needed multiple coats. Both took a long time to dry. As a matter a fact I don't think I got it dry enough when I completed putting the auger together. At least at that point it still seems soft even though it had been drying for about a week.

I should point out AGCO also offers a Corporate Orange. It is more expensive but I am thinking it is more durable once it dries. I got that at the AGCO dealer.

Good Luck.

Paul

It is corporate orange not persian orange. Tisco and Ace brands are the same color.
You need to get #1820 from Krylon to match persian orange. Bob

I have not used the Rustoleum Allis color but I have used the Rustoleum IH red paint. It went on well and over the course of 17 years has only faded a small amount - granted the tractor does get stored in a shed and has only spent a few nights outside since painted. I did not use hardner and the paint was softer for the first couple of years it was on the tractor. I put it on thick with no runs but the amount of time it took to really "cure" hard to the tractor was a full two years.

Great info guys, that's what I was looking for, someone who had actually used it and had some real results. I found the Krylon 1820 at NAPA up the street so I'll see how that works.

I really like the Rustoleum Rust Reformer Primer. Still, I take off all the rust I possibly can before using it. I've never had rust show up again after using it as a primer. I too found Krylon 1820 gave the best match of 6 or 8 other brands I tried. Granted, I don't know for sure what the paint is I'm trying to match up with because I didn't put it on.
