Allis B oil seal

I've restored a 1945 Allis Chalmers Model B and when the engine was in bits I replaced the front crankoil seal with a modern recommended replacement (lip seal). This lasted for about 4 runs, before the front crank started leaking oil again. On searching the web I found a few people with similar problems and apparently the front crank seal should be a felt one. Does anyone know where I could get one from before I undertake this task please?
Thanks

Did you use a speedi sleeve or redi sleeve over the spiral groove?? I have also had good luck using JB Weld to fill the grooved and sanding smooth. The lip is very easy to damage when installing also. I make a funnel out of shim stock to get the lip over the step on the crankshaft. I damaged a couple before figuring out that I was damaging the seal when assembling. Trying to get the timing cover with the new seal installed aligned with everything can be a chore.

As Dick said it is easy to damage the lip of the seal if there is any roughness anywhere. I cover
the ends of shafts with electric tape, one layer, and made it overlap the end to ease the seal over
the end of the shaft. Polish the seal surface and if any scratches or pits, as was said use a spedi
sleeve. And carefully center the cover before tightening.
