can't keep it running. Starving of gas. I cleaned carb. blew out all ports several times. Installed carb kit. When disassembled there is lots of gas in the bowl. If I cover the air intake it will sort of run. There is lots of gas at the line going into carb. Help Please

Cleaning and blowing out the passage ways of a carb are not good enough. You need to poke them out with a piece of wire or as I use a torch tip cleaner tool then spray them out with carb cleaner and poke them out again. Poke each one out at least 3 times and spray them with carb cleaner after each poke.

Make sure your gas cap is loose enough that the gravity feed will work. I replaced the gasket on my cap because it was very loose. The new one was so tight I could barely get the cap on. I had the same problems trying to start my B until I took the cap off - and it started. So I pulled off the new gasket and can get the tractor to start.

I had rebuilt my carb, lined the tank, replaced the lines, filter, and sediment bowl due to the tractor sitting for so long - so everything was new.

Hard to get them really clean without soaking in a basket of carburetor cleaner. I have the best luck by boiling them in soap water before disassembly and then again if I get crap on a drill bit turning it with my fingers in the passages.

Hi Dick
I hope you have not made the same error I made a few weeks back !!
I had the same issue and went through the system several times, only to find after a few days that whilst cleaning the carb the venturie had fallen out by the hedge without me been aware and I kept rebuilding the carb minus the venturie, I could not understand why the tractor would start but not run on throttle.
I doubt anyone else would be as stupid as me............... but just in case!!

I have! I would guess that anyone that has worked on carburetors much has done so. I say all the time that when it comes to mistakes that people make, I have probly made the same mistake several times.

Remove the plug from the bottom of the carb and let the gas flow into a coffee can for several minutes.
If you don't have a steady flow your problem is in the gas tank or gas bowl. LOL Bob
