WD lube specs

I have a service manual for the WD but I can't for the life of me find in it anywhere what lube goes in the final drive. It says 1 quart, but doesn't say what. I believe it should probably be 80w90 but would like to be sure. It also doesn't say what should be in the trans but gives the amount. Sure would appreciate the help. Keith

Back when made yes it would have been 80W-90 but now days one can use the 85W-140 or UTF. If you use UTF it may make a bit more noise due to it being a thinner oil

Besides being cheaper (especially the "303" lube) is there anything gained (or lost) using UTF instead of 80W?

You do not gain any thing but you also do not loose any thing by using UTF other then one less fluid to have to keep on hand
