Trouble Removing Nut Cap on AC G Belt Pulley

Our AC G has fluid leaking at the belt pulley end of the belt pulley assembly. We have obtained the NAPA oil seal referenced in post #126034. We have both the operating and service manuals for the G. We are unable to get to the seal because we cannot remove the nut cap. How is the nut cap attached? What suggestions do you have for removing it to get to the oil seal?

It just presses down into the hole. If you'll grab it straight on with a pair of channel locks and rock it up and down as you pull out, it will come off. After removing the staked nut and removing the plate, be on the lookout for the key way so you don't lose it.
