what the easiest way to put a live hyd on this tractor, It's a series 1 with factory power steering. This post is for a friend .

It has live hyd with the Power Director....you want independent? Check the front face of the crankshaft pulley- if it has 4 drilled and tapped holes, you can get a front-mount pump that fits in front of the radiator, and is driven by a shaft connected to the pulley.

I removed the balancer pulley , from my 52 B and had a machine shop face off the hand crank lugs, and drill 4- 5/16" Holes in the face of the balancer, to accept, a flange with 3/4" shaft, that extends through the radiator grill, and runs a hydraulic pump, purchased from Northern Tool and equipment. True live hydraulics. I have been using it since 2003.

Ah, a good point, i don't think he had considered that, he was thinking he could get the parts of off a series 1V, and go that route !!

Series IV is a totally different animal...drives from where the belt pulley would go on the first 3 series, but cannot change the internals that drive the independent pump.
