Do some research on oil filters and you will find not all oil filters are the same . Some oil filters are made of better quality material and some have more filtering media than others. A few years back I delivered into an oil distributor that had a display of oil filter from almost every manufacture cut in half. If you saw whats inside of some filters you wouldn't buy them. You can say they meet manufactures specs but cheap filters just barely meet manufactures specs.

The oil filters for the B,C,WD such as the Fram C-159 are all the same a can full of yarn. This is the same technology used in 1940. Yes the filters for later vehicles that use a filter paper media varies in filtering ability from manufacturer to manufacturer but not the ones packed with yarn.
