well i had a bad experience the other day, while driving my wd45 home from on blacktop road ,i noticed tractor
not responding to steering wheel. i put in clutch and brakes at same time and came to stop. when i got off
tractor to see what happened, I discovered that the pin that connects the power steering unit to the drive
collumn had come out.I made it home by using a 3/8 bolt for pin. can I fix this by using a #8 hard steel bolt
with locknut plus drill and cotterpin thru nut and bolt.

I have ued a bolt for that on more then one tractor over the years. As long is it fits tight and all and does not hit any thing it will work

Make sure whatever you do, that the pin fits tights. If it has any slop, it will get worse and wear over time, making your steering more sloppy.
