I just got an old B that runs good but smokes a lot and there's oil on all the plugs- Compression test-

#2-90
#3-92
#4-90

Stuck rings maybe or bad valve guides?
Thanks for any ideas

Do you know any of its history?? If it has sat a long time good chance it has stuck rings. I'd fill the cylinders with ATF and let it sit a day or 2.
But is the smoke a gray or a black?? If black air cleaner could be plugged up or the carb may have a problems

It's whitish blue smoke- I'll try some ATF and let in set for a couple of days. I believe it sat in a barn for awhile without being run. The gas was starting to get varnishy.

If it has a vertical exhaust you should also pour some ATF down it so as to get to the exhaust valves so that they do not stick. Always put to plugs back in when your waiting those few days. Then pull the plugs out and spin it over. You need to do that with the plugs out or it can hydro-lock on you. Yes it is likely to make a bit of a mess
