Allis Chalmers D15 Wheel Bearing Replacement

I'm a newbie to any type of repair work, but when my front wheel started making a racket, I figured it was a good time to try it. First error was that I bought the inner and outer bearings from a local shop... not here, and as a result I didn't get any races/cups. Are they necessary to be replaced as well? I'd like to do a decent job, but also don't want any more down time than needed. By the way, the inner bearing was bad.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Okay so I got the new parts I ordered from this site today. Pulled the old races and installed the new then packed the bearings with grease and got them installed. When I put the hub back in the spindle I noticed that it isn't spinning as freely as I would think it should I backed things off and spun and tightened again and it's still not spinning freely. Any suggestions are appreciated.

how tight did you tighten the nut ? You should just snug it up till the wheel starts to drag, or you notice no wobble in the tire, then back off a notch or two... Bearings should not be tight... only " drag" is the seal on the inside end.

You should tighten it while spinning , untill it stops spinning then back it off 1/4 turn. This seats the new bearings and races. or get a manual and torque them to specs.
