Mark IV backhoe

Hello to all,,,
I am in process of rebuilding a D14 Industrial with a Mark IV and TS 500 loader. the swing "tower" has developed an issue of it not wantin to swing to the right all the way and now swings but very slowly. This tractor was parked for bout 20 years and I had to re-seal the main boom lift cylinder. I also replaced all the hydraulic hoses including those on the loader. It still has the Cessna pump up front and everything else works great except for the swing to the right.
I've got a few feelers out on some operator manuals on the internet but don't think they will show any parts breakdowns drawings of the swing tower.
I did check the archives and find a couple of gentlemen that had the manuals but the posts were in 2003 and I could not figure how to contact them.
Does anybody here have a parts manual they want to sell a copy to me,??? Thanks for any help.

I will have to check but I think I have a parts book. I rebuilt mine years ago. If it is a problem one way, you may want to check the spool valve for leakage (Bypassing) or maybe a hose that has delaminated on the inside blocking the oil flow.

Hey SMS,,,MANY thanks,,Guy,,for your quick response,,!! Dang,,,but I do hope you still have your parts book as I have hit an absolute dead end trying to find a copy on Ebay and the internet,,,,You bring up good possibles and I will definitely check them out.
When you say "spool valves" are you referring to what I call the bank of 6 control valves actuated by the hand levers?? (I'm not too good on terminology of hydraulic systems)If so, this "valve is the only one of the 6 control valves that has a "restrictor orifice" in the inlet port, and I figured it was just to slow down the fast acting swing to a reasonable level,,??
The engine does NOT slow down any or main pump act like a blockage is going on when I try to swing to the right,,,if anything the engine/pump seem to relax some when I do try to swing to the right,,,,??

It hasn't done it again but, I could hear/feel as if something inside the tower was hitting metal to metal when I tried to swing all the way to the right,,,almost like some gears were NOT meshed correctly. What was reason for rebuilding yours and is it very complicated on the inside,??I can't imagine what/how it uses hydraulic pressure to rotate the boom,,???
AGAIN,,,I do appreciate the heck out of you takin time to respond. Joe r

Yes, the spool valves are the control valves. I rebuilt mine because the seals were bad and it had no power to swing. FOUND THE PARTS BOOK! Here are the pictures for the swing cylinder. Our scanner doesn't work so I took pictures. If you download them and enlarge you should be able to see. If you need the parts book copied I can take it somewhere and have it done, I'm sure we can work something out. If you notice the book covers Mark IV and Mark V and check the serial numbers.

Reread your original post and I noticed you said it had been parked for many years. Mine was also and I had to rebuild all the cylinders except the outriggers. Since I bought an excavator I haven't used the hoe and it has been sitting again for about 16 years now, I had it on a JD track loader. My email is open so you should be able to contact me direct if you want.
