Gleaner M tachometer

I'm getting the combine ready to run wheat but my tachometer won't work at all. It is a diesel with the switch to check ground speed, engine speed and cylinder speed.

I switched the tach and switch with one from a parts machine with no results. How do I check if it's the sensors or the tech itself?

Thanks,
John

Memory serves the sensors are supposed to have about 500 ohm resistance.

Truth be told the tach is nice but by no means a necessity. I ran a M and then a M2 for many years and the tach was intermittent
at best. Only needed the ground speed to work when I put on a Yield Monitor.

Make sure the sensor is the proper distance from the slotted wheel that turns in
front of it and that the face of it is clean, also check wiring, they seldom give
trouble. The engine speed function is the least important of the four settings...just
adjust the throttle stops for the rated operating speed and drive on. Ben
