AC 7000 vs ??

I am interested in buying a non power shift tractor in the low 100 hp range. I like the Ac 7000 for its simplicity, and its full ROPS cab, but I have been told it lacks a diff lock. I mainly would be using it as a log skidder. Is this tractor tough enough for this kind of work? How does it stack up to the Ford 8600 or Case 1070 for durability? Is it possible to walk these things through mud using differential braking, or should I find a tractor with a differential lock. Thanks in advance.

The 7000 has a 3 speed powershift. For log skidding in mud, I'd find an old 4wd tractor. Can be had for about the same money as the 2wd you have listed.
