200 power director

This darn thing has been apart several times, have AC Manuel. I have to pull the lever almost all the way back for it to engage, then there is no way to ease it in, grabs ahold all at once. Front end will come off the ground if I have a bale on the back, same thing happens when I push the stick forward. Any ideas? Good news, the PTO finally works like it should. Many thanks guys. Tom.

With the controls unhooked, does the power director spool valve operate smoothly like it should?

That was never the handiest control, even when new. I believe the lever/quadrant was changed during 200 production, making it worse.

Sounds like a spool that is dragging in its bore. Might be able to disassemble and clean and polish both, or replace with a different valve. The later control was better because you could wrap your little finger around the quadrant or rest your hand on it for steadier control of the lever. If the spool is free sliding, you will be happy with it. Adding the quadrant to and old style lever is a good idea for smoother control.

before doing any thing the 200 had 4 ruber mounts under fuel tank\deck once thy go and i bet thy have the shifting well be hard and almost impossible to adjust so check them i thinking they are a good 1/2 thick maybe more
