Engine Serial Number Information

Guys. I need to get the engine serial number from the "CA" in order to get the correct thermostat. Where can I find this information on my tractor/engine block?

THanks,

If I remember right it is just forward of the shiftier so if sitting on it if you slide you hand to the base of the shiftier and put your for finger straight out it should be close to touching it

That would be the tractor serial number by the shifter. Engine should be in the edge of the block by the bell housing.

Checked the AGCO parts book. If you do NOT have a bypass housing, then you need t start 70220027. If you DO have a bypass housing, then you need 70226372. Bypass has a small hose going back to the block, no bypass is the single hose that goes back to the upper radiator.

Are you looking for more than the thermostat? There is a spring that holds it in the housing too. I
replaced a rusted one with part of the spring from an old grease gun. The housing is tall and the
thermostat needs to be held down near the engine with the spring as I remember it. Could be wrong,
but there is a spring in a B/C and I think a CA would be the same.

Mine has the small 2 inch long piece of hose going from the water pump to the thermostat housing. I'm guessing that is called a bypass hose?? When I removed the old thermostat there wasn't a spring but I guess it could have been long rusted away.

Go to the "cooling system-water manifold bypass" page and you can see a diagram. No spring i the picture. There is a spring in the non bypass manifold.
