Pulled the governor on the CA

I had to pull the governor on the CA to access the water pump bolt to remove it. I am ready to put back together. Is there a certain way the governor needs to go in for timing purposes?? I don't see timing marks on it

If it drives the dist, then yes, it has to be timed to the cam gear. Should be some marks somewhere. What does the end of the shaft that goes into the dist drive look like? If it only works one way and you haven't turned anything, you should be good to line the drive shaft up and slip it back together.

This is it. I'm thinking it doesn't matter where I install it. Idk though

I can't remember if there are timing marks on the dist/gov drive. (There are on the magneto drive.) It doesn't matter where you plug that back in, as you will have to time the dist. to the engine anyhow. Turn the engine until you get number 1 coming up on compression, then on up to TDC. Then install, and/or turn the dist. backwards until the points just open, and put your number 1 plug wire in the cap post which lines up with the rotor. It doesn't matter, but AC originally placed the number 1 wire towards the front.
 
Backwards. The drive groove has to be horizontal at TDC on the compression stroke for a magneto. It can go any way for a distributor then reset the distributor with the rotor to number one plug wire terminal at TDC on the compression stroke. The distributor will lift out of the casting.
