Fan Pulley Removal for Water Pump on CA

I bought a new water pump for the Allis CA and it didn't come with the pulley attached so I will have to transfer the old pulley over to the new water pump. Does anyone know how to remove this pulley to put on the new pump? I have the water pump removed from the tractor.

The fan should just unbolt from the fan hub that is press fit onto the water pump shaft. If the new pump does not have the fan hub on it already you will have to remove the fan hub from the old water pump shaft. I had to do this on my CA several years ago. The way I did it was to unbolt the fan from the fan hub, then I heated the fan hub up with a torch and it slid right off the old pump shaft, then you may have to heat it a little more once it is off, then just slide it onto the new water pump shaft and hold it in the position it needs to stay in. It will cool in a few seconds and lock itself in place. Just be careful not to get the new pump to hot or you might could damage the new pump's seal. I used an oxy-acetelene torch, I doubt a propane would get it hot enough. Right or wrong, this is how I did it, and it worked great for me. Good luck.

I noticed that there's a bolt throught the side of the pulley on the waterpump. Does this bolt have to be removed to get the pulley off? If so, The new water pump doesn't have a hole to install that bolt back through.

Just one bolt in the side?? If it is like the pulley on the Cs that is how you tighten up the fan belt by making the pulley smaller or bigger so the belt rides up higher or lower on the pulley. It is best that you take that pulley and clean it up and work it some so that it will be a lot easier to tighten the belt

I'm not following you old. The bolt I'm talking about goes through the pulley hub and looks like it comes out the other side

it's the same as the C Old. There should be 2 bolts running through the pulley. It's a 2 piece deal that can adjust to tighten the belt. Take the 4 bolts out that hold the fan on and it should pop right off the pump hub. May need some gentle persuasion with a pry bar or hammer.

There should be 4 bolts that hold the pulley to the water pump/hub and then 2 bolts in the sides of the pulley. The bolts in the side are carriage bolts that have the dome tops and the square part that holds them from turning. They in turn sit in a slot part of the pulley so it can open and close the belt area of the pulley to tighten up the belt. Have one right here on my desk

Got it swapped over to the new pump. Thanks for the help. We heated it up and it popped off. It fit loosely on the new pump and just sat right on there. Tightened it down with the 4 fan bolts and it should be good to go now
