HELP - Aluminum Thermostat Housing on Allis CA

Upon removing the water pump on the CA for replacement, I wanted to remove the upper and lower thermostat housings so I could replace the thermostat too. Upon trying to unbolt the 2 halves I snapped off 3 out of 4 of the bolts holding it together. It didn't take very much pressure to snap them either. The bolts broke off about 1/8 inch above the surface of the bottom half of the housing.

With this housing being aluminum or pot metal or what ever it is, I'm sure this has happened to someone else. What is the solution and easiest way to fix it?? Can these parts be bought new aftermarket?

I did the same thing on my WD45. Steel bolts tend to seize into an aluminum housing. On mine, the threaded part was left broke off in the steel base and easily turned out with a screwdriver. If yours is similar, an easy-out might remove the broken bolts.

Mine broke off in the lower housing (threaded part) and they broke above that housing so about 3/8 inch of the bolts stick up. The lower housing is made of Aluminum or pot metal or whatever that is. Any tips on getting them out to save and re-use that lower part??

I haven't seen a new lower housing for sale aftermarket.
