Found a Nut I don't know where it goes

Working up a food plot the other day I looked behind me and saw a nut on the ground. It's from my '51 WD. My Wd was painted 4 years ago and this nut was painted the same. Anyway, I can't find out where it goes. It takes a inch and a quarter wrench and it looks to be a one inch bolt that it would go on. It's also fine thread the way it looks. Any ideas where to look???????????? I've been looking and I can't find out where it would go. Of course it could be right in front of me.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a large lock nut that secures the tapered jam bolt for the electric starter, and I believe the same for the belt pulley. Not near my '51, so cannot confirm the size.

Not the pivot on the wide front end. But will check out the others tomorrow. It's over at my sugarbush a mile down the road. I'm home right now, but I'll be over there early in the A.M. I'll let you know and maybe their will be other ideas.
Thanks to everyone so far.

Tapered jam bolt is not fine thread. What about the spring under the center of the tractor....for traction booster? Does that have a fine threaded nut?

If its not the nut on front end pivot then check snap coupler up under tractor. There is a large nut on the spring of traction booster coupler.

It's a WD not Wd45 so I don't have a traction booster. Heading over to the sugarbush soon, so I'll be checking things out. I'll let everyone know what I find.

You still have drawbar control. You just don't have a Traction Booster gauge.
If you would like a homemade copy of original 1951 Operators Manual, just provide your e-mail address to me later.

I looked again today and checked out all the ideas sent. No luck. Wondering if it was a nut that was wedged in somewhere and painted with the tractor a few years back. I'm going to sit down with the parts manual and go page by page. I'm one of those that this will drive me nuts till I know if it's for the tractor or not.

All WD and WD45 tractors have Traction Booster. Snap Coupler is just the hitching system. Most 45s have that and lots of WDs had it added later. Eitherway there is still a large nut in the area of the traction booster spring. Is there room for the axle pivot to have two fine threaded nuts.... double nutted and one fell off? Check for the jam nut on the set screw on the crank shaft pulley. I can't remember if they are fine threaded or not. Drawbar bail is supposed to have a slotted fine thread nut on each side that cotter pins are supposed to lock in place.

WD or WD-45 Traction Booster coil springs do not have a large castellated nut on them. That's the D-14-15-17-19 series.
