AC B rear axle spline fix

what is the preferred way to fix a loose wheel on the tapered spline axle of the AC B

If the splines on the shaft and hub "look good", but the hub bottoms out before it gets tight on the shaft, you can fix that. Turn the hub over and grind 1/8 inch off the lip that is sticking up... it fits into the seal area cavity. This will allow the hub to go in a little more and get tight......... If the splines "look bad" or the hub wobbles in and out an inch when the nut is tight, they its shot. You need new parts.

The preferred way would be to replace with good parts. Or the cheep way would be to shim the splines with some thin strips of sheet metal.

If it is one REALLY BAD , I have use a liquid metal like BLEZONA and smear it on the shaft and interal hub. Push the hub on and tighten the nut till it is hand tight.. Let it set overnight until dry, then tighten to 600 ft pounds.......... I have had that last about 2 years, then loose again.

I have driven nails in the splines then a large washer to keep them in it will last for awhile
