I'm looking for help identifying this AC. Only serial number on the block is AM -3853-10 and a partial beginning number on the left rear side on the transmission/differential begins with 2U 85XX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

post a pic
it'll make id a lot easier
a lot of AC's had serial # on the back axle
most were lightly stamped and done by hand making them hard to read
an example is my WD it ser# is WD66553
note it has the model at the start
but not all models did this

you can also lock in tractordata.com
they have pics and serial # listed for most models

Those are casting numbers. General description would help. How many gears, hand or foot brakes, frame rails or not, rear tire size. Serial number is either by the shifter (no frame rail models) or on the rear by the left brake housing (frame rail models). Will start with tractor model (B, C, WD, etc).

I loaded pictures when I created the post and they were visible then but I don't see them in the post.....any ideas what went wrong?

Aaron Seia, it is a 4 speed tranny with reverse, has long frame rails that protrude about a foot past the radiator, seat is offset to the right, has spin out rear wheels and a wide front end. I loaded pics when I created the post and they were visible at that time but they did not show up in the post. I tried to go back and add them afterwards but says editing is not available at this time. Any help is appreciated.

It has the curved shift lever, so either a late (1952) WD or a WD45. Serial number would identify...WD45 started in 1953 at 146,607. Serial numbers are always stamped, not cast, as in the one you found on the engine. Serial number is on the rear vertical face of the left side of the differential. May also be by the brake cover, left side of the differential.

Location if serial number is in the picture the area that is white in color it is the left side rear

That block casting number is for a WD-45 so......,if the engine is original, the tractor is a WD-45 as well.

BRIAN G. NY Thanks for the info on the motor. It is the original motor and the top end and exhaust has been covered. I need to find a head and manifold but this will be my summer project. Thanks for your help
