Anyone have exploded view of drawbar & 3 point hitch for

When I bought my D17 last fall, it had a plow attached. It came with other implements as well. However in order to attach the plow, the seller had taken apart and taken off the whole 3 point hitch and drawbar assembly. It appears this is required to use the plow. But he gave me a whole pile of parts, including the actual drawbar itself, two bars with swivel balls on the ends, some flat smallish pieces of steel with bolts in them, and more. He said this was the entire drawbar and 3 point attachments.

Winter came before I was able to play around with much on this tractor, so it sat all winter with the plow still attached. Now that the weather is getting nicer, I figured out how to remove the plow. That consisted of lifting two snap-down pieces on top, and releasing a lever under the belly of the tractor, which is sort of a pocket. (I can see this is where one end of the drawbar goes).

This is my first tractor with a 3 point hitch, and my first Allis. (I've only used a Farmall M and H). I was not raised on a farm either, so I have to learn as I go. I know somewhat what needs to be done, and my first goal is to attach a 3 point round bale spear.

Anyhow, I'm pretty much lost as far as how to put all these pieces together to create the drawbar and 3 point assembly. I have a fairly large pile of parts, brackets and stuff and dont know how it all goes together. I have studied all these parts, and it's apparent that the inner end of the drawbar fits into that "pocket" on the tractor's belly. After that, I'm pretty well puzzled and confused.

I did google the web, and did not find much. I'm looking for a diagram (exploded view), of this whole assembly. Also a clear close-up photo of the entire drawbar put together would be real helpful. I'm posting this to request both a photo and exploded view diagram. (Web URL's for this would also help). If you have a D17 (series one), with all of this attached, please post a photo, and if anyone knows of a diagram, please post also.

Thanks

The integral system on the tractor is called a Snap Coupler system. The bell-shaped housing under the middle of the tractor is the Snap Coupler. The devices on the lift arms are called lift latches. It sounds like in addition to that, you have an add-on 3 pt hitch....the bars with balls in them would be for the 3 pt hitch. The U-shaped part is called a bail, and mounts to the bottom of the tractor, and within the drawbar assembly, supporting it. google "Allis Chalmers Snap Coupler system" for diagrams and pix.

You can go to Tonys Tractors website, and bring up pictures for various hitches, that he sells. Just browse the pictures, and you will see how they mount.
