Yesterday I attended a farm sale 22 miles away.....I managed to pick up this rough WD-45 diesel for $1800...It has anti-freeze in the pan.....It has 26" combine rear wheels and the drawbar is gone...They sold a spare injection pump and I got it too..I may put a D-17 262 in it??? Right after I bought it a man came up and offered me some 13.6x28 tires on AC spin out rims for $150 so will get them this afternoon just 7 miles from where the tractor is..

There were more AC tractors on the sale plus a L2 Gleaner combine....Go to the combine forum to see pictures and results..The WD AC to the left of the WD-45 sold for $400...It had spin outs, the drawbar, and good front tires...The engine was free..I should have bought it...

Have you got the spare D17 engine? So you're going to try to keep it a diesel?

I have long wanted a WD45, or D series diesel. But at this point it won't happen. MY overly cautious father even wanted a WD45 diesel. Probably about 1965 I went to an auction with him where he bought a nice, long flat belt. I later learned he had pulled the dipstick on a WD45 diesel there, and didn't bid because the oil was black!

I used to really enjoy your pictures. For quite a while now, my old computer won't open them.

Don't try to turn the injection pumps over!. No doubt the governor control unit or the plunger is stuck!. I call the screw driver test. Send me a snail mail address and I will send you some information. I need to make another man some copies this week might as well make you a set too. $1000.00 is you break it! J.

J.S. is spot on DON"T turn the pumps, or even the engine for that matter, not even to set the timing. Just remove the pump where it is and timing can be addressed later. I've saved a few IF dad didn't let junior play with it after the pump was off the engine...

You can't make out the serial number....I assume the rear end is the only place its stamped at...You are lucky to have your Dads 1957 diesel...

A man on another forum used to not be able to see my pictures...They told him to change his browser setting and he was able to see them..

I know where a D-17 diesel engine is for sale...I have a lead on another one from a C2 Gleaner..The oil in my WD-45 is green from anti-freeze...I wish it was black..

Thanks J....I'll email you tomorrow...A friend that owned a 55 Massey diesel told me to never turn those pumps without checking them over....I'm leaning towards a D-17 diesel motor so may have an original pump for sale as I have an extra...

The top picture is a beautifully restored WD-45 diesel that sold for $11,000 at Kincaid,KS in 2014....The bottom picture is my tractor when I got it home this afternoon..
