The original subject was "1952 AllisChalmers B RebuildRestore Questions".

I have a 1942 Allis Chalmers C I am working on. I do not know much about Allis Chalmers, but I think yours does have different rear fenders than mine. So, it could be a B with a narrow front end, but I will leave that to the Allis experts. As far as price, if you got a good working Woods mower with it, then you did okay. The Woods made the price. You probably do not want to know how much I got into mine and still not done!! I did a complete overhaul on the engine (new pistons, rings, cylinder walls, etc.) and had the head redone. Had to have work done on magneto, carb, and starter. Not to the point if the generator needs work. Oh yes, new front and rear tires!! Right now I am having problems with the oil pump and may have to split again. I knew it would be a learning experience, but the tuition is getting a little high. They are good little tractors and reasonable simple. I am more a Farmall person and find the AC manuals I have for this tractor a little lacking at times. But I have gotten good help from this forum. Good luck with it. I think it would make a nice little mow tractor with the Woods mower.
