What is the secret to time a mag on a WC/WD engine?

Depending on which mag you have I may have the manaul forr it so if you send me an e-mail and tell me which mag you have I can in turn send you the manual by way of e-mail since I have it in the computer

take the spark plug out on number 1 , bring piston to TDC of compression stroke , take cap off mag. ( just outter cap) set mag. to
number 1 wire ( about 11 o clock if your looking at cap (front) install , start engine , you may need to fine tune, by turning mag.
within the rang of the slots it bolts to, after engine is up to temp. & put under load , Farmall mag. timing is done the same way ,
so if you would have a book on an older IH tractor that info can be applied here to
