Loop rims or dimple rims for AC B?

I know the difference between the two rims but what would make the loop rims less desirable over the dimple rims? Cost isn't it. Can the tires be set in and out similar? Does the loop rim require any rework of the hub to mount? I know there is a big difference in price for sure. Any place anyone know of with a "great deal" on a set? Also what size rubber needs to be bought to work? Have need for a set but am not looking to mortgage the farm to get them. Any help?

I've had two B's and a C, and they all needed new rims. I used the loop type, and did away with the OEM clamps. I ran into a challenge on the C. To get the tires spaced the way I wanted, I had to turn the valve stems in, where they would hit the axle/final drive housings. Luckily I had some plugs I saved which came with a Gleaner, and they are in the C valve stems. Some rims have valve stem holes in either side. I think my B's had 9.5 tires, and I used an 8" rim. 10" rims on the C.

Factory would have be the dimple rims but I have a C that has one of each on it. The loop rims are easier to keep from falling off and fit just fine. My C has 12.4X24 on it but I have seen any where from 9.5X24 up to 13.6X24 on them. I prefer the 12.4s my self

Can any of you post a pic of loop rims on the early cast centers? I have one original dimpled rim and one rim that was modified by Wally the Welder.

Here ya go!

Thanks guys for the help. I am looking for a good price on the loop rims anyone have a good place to look? The cost for the others can be someone else's issue when thy rebuild it.

I want it for a sickle bar mower unit as that thing is a big pain to take off and on. I have two B's and this one will end up being the mower and what ever else the other isn't going to be doing. I want to get to trimming up the place and the mower dose it right nice but it just so much work to deal with that once on it's staying on.
