Could anyone please advise me where to locate the serial number on an Allis model U.

It is stamped on the differential housing facing the rear. Look for a flat area above the drawbar to the left side of the PTO opening and just under the platform. Be aware that quite a few model Us had the differential casting replaced over the years due to the differential pin coming loose and cracking the housing. Lots of them didn't get the serial numbers stamped when new parts were installed or now have the wrong number because used parts were installed.
