CA- leaking oil drain plugs??

Fella's I was wondering what some of you have done to stop leaking oil drain plugs? I have a CA that i have gone threw all the mechanicals on and after replacing the old chewed up copper washers on the 3 different oil drain plugs that all had a constant oil drop hanging on them( with the nylon washers) I still have the persisten drop of oil hanging on them. (All 3) I have tried teflon tape on the threads but I didnt get carried away as i didnt want it getting in my hydro system. Would I be better off to order some of the copper washers and hope the new ones would work better than the teflon ones did?? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Sincerely, Hoss

Try putting an O ring on both sides of copper washer that fit the plug and tighten. You will have to replace O ring every time you change oil but they will stop the leak.

If the bottom of the pan isn't square with the threads, it probably will take an o ring to stop it from leaking. The threads on the plug have to be square with the shoulder too. Both things a good machinist can figure out for you.

There is only one oil drain plug on a CA that takes a copper washer and that is on the engine oil pan. If you have drips from the drain plugs on the tranny and hydraulics, you need to tighten the plug up more or chase the threads and replace the plug. They are NTP threads and are tapered to tighten up and seal. A little good teflon pipe dope on the threads shouldn't hurt but tape in the hydraulics is not a good thing.
