Cut out of work a little early and went to Williams farm machinery in Charlotte Mi to get a few gaskets and one seal for gov shaft. They were a allis dealer when i was a kid. They had everything I needed. Ask about d17 gov spring and plunger wanted $85. And had to order it, told him to never mind the 45 spring will work fine. Well to think of it 5 or 6 hp for $85.is not a bad deal. THE ENGINE IS IN! And bolted down. Does anyone have pic of oil line piping they used? Thanks Dale

I have done a project like this but it has been a while and don't remember any thing too complicated on the oil line. In a day or so I could look again. Best keep it pretty much as is and modify only as needed.

I remember a previous post(not the details) on this forum where someone had a engine failure after switching and it ended up ruining the engine because oil line was not connected right and deprived the bearings of oil. That would be a big shock after finding a good replacement.

My original engine may be re-buildable with a bunch of money but after sitting apart in the trees a few years did not look to promiseing. The Combine E engine with low hours and free off a parts machine seem to be a great choice even if for the "correct Police" it is now not correctly "restored". At least it is a perky running tractor now that can be used. cleddy

Nobody will say any thing if your using for around your place and most shows they don't say much unless they might be judging for best restoration of show. Your big problem would be if you pull it in a antique farm stock class and WD 45 never had a fuel pump or even a place in block for one.
 
On a transplant I did i just used hi temp hyd hose and cocked the fittings a little to clear everything
 
I used brake line on mine. Single flare JIC fittings. If you want to use hyd hose it would work fine but high temp is unnecessary. I sell a lot of hyd hose ant its rated at much higher temp than engine oil will get. Ill get a pic of it in the morning.
 

I have the D17 governor parts on my Grampa's WD45 LP. We also used the tail shaft with the Tachometer output and mounted the tach on top of the battery box. Went from standard 1400 rpm to 2000 rpm. The engine was also balanced so it can handle the higher rpm. You can see it in this video.

My Dad used to pull 4 bottoms with a similar WD45 gas setup back in the 60s. He had every weight you could bolt on that thing plus fluid to the top of the tires. Probably weighed 8000 lbs!
