Its yours to do what you want but I think I would be looking for a downer engine that is not stuck.

Looking for a donor right now. Told my wife it would be easer for me to get back together. She said something about new carpet or something as I was walking out the door! Lol

depends on what your long term plan is... If your buying a "kit" with new liners / piston / rings and your reusing the block and head then really don't care if its stuck... Now if your trying to get by with hone and install new rings, then you need a running doner.

Dale, my brother has one
of those engines out of
an E combine he'd like
to sell. It is 10 MI
north of Saint Johns MI.
It is still on the
combine skid with
radiator attached. My
brother is not going to
do anything with it, and
my dad would like it out
of his barn. If you
might be interested,
email me and I'll see
what he wants for it.

To put that E Gleaner engine in there, u will have to make one little notch in the the top of the frame rail , inside lip!

If your going to get a donor engine get the 226 out of a D17 . It will put out more HP than the 226 that was in the WD45 and I think it will bolt in without any modification.

Ive never had to notch a frame rail to fit one. What are you trying to clear? The lube system has to be re-piped and the fuel pump removed. The governor out of the tractor must be used but otherwise direct swap.

The WD45 and D17 are the same basic engine. The D 17 turns 1650 RPM compared to 1400 RPM of the WD45. The D17 puts out 61-65 HP compared to 40-44 of the WD 45.
