ac 7000 pto slips when hot

I've got a chance to buy a nice Ac
7000 maroon belly gear drive.its a
nice tractor but the PTO slips when it
warms up.I am a red man at heart and
have no clue on how it works or how
expensive they are to fix.can anybody
advize me on this issue. Thanks in
advance.

May be an easy fix. Get a service manual and check the power shift/PTO pressure control valve. On my early 7000 the valve was stuck causing low clutch pressure/slipping. I thought that the plates were toast, but it works fine now on the front mount snow blower that it runs. Had to remove the valve spool and polish some lands until it moved freely in the aluminum housing..
