Did the 190xt have a common diesel engine with any combines? I have a 190xt gasser and would like to put a diesel engine in it. Thanks.

I am not an Allis tractor person but owned a few Gleaners. The 2900 engine in M series should work. 301 turbo engine. What has to be done to get them to fit I have no idea.

I just done an M to 190xt transplant. Major project.
Fortunately i had the old tractor diesel engine for
parts. The block , crank, etc is all that can be used.
Head, oil lines, filter assemblies, all that has to be
from a tractor engine. Your best bet would be two
engines, a good runner off combine and a non
repairable tractor engine for parts. Major dollars.
Trade it for a good diesel tractor.

Ive got a friend that has what I suspect was gas 190 with a diesel combine engine in it. It works well but is pretty cobbled up. Fuel filter base is bolted outside the frame rails and several places a welder was used. Id be looking for a diesel with the trans/rear end out of it or trading it off for a diesel.

I literally gave away a junk G combine with a good running diesel a couple years ago so...when I read a 2900 would work I was kinda bummed....but reading what you guys said makes me feel a little better. This is a really good old tractor with a loader....except I hate the gas engine. It drinks gas like crazy, and just doesn't get ran enough to keep it up as it should be. I guess I will screw with it til I can either not stand it anymore or someone decides to take it away. THANKS for advice.

The water pump system is completely different. The pymp mounts up higher, which does not match up to the radiater and fan shroud.
